Neha Nair Biography
Neha Nair is a south Indian playback singer and composer who works in Malayalam film industry. As a playback singer, she got her first break through Ritu (2009 film), directed by Shyamaprasad. She sang the duet, "Chanchalam/Cindrella" with Job Kurian, composed by Rahul Raj. The movie also marked the screen debut of popular Malayalam actors, Asif Ali, Nishan, Rima Kallingal and Vinay Forrt, who later established their respective careers in Mollywood. As a playback singer she shot to fame with the romantic song, 'Premikkumbol Neeyum Njanum' in the film Salt N' Pepper, directed by Aashiq Abu.
Neha Nair was born in Mumbai, and she is originally from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. she got her first break to playback singing through Ritu in the year 2009, and in the past one decade she has rendered her voice for more than 25 film songs. She is also a guest female singer in the Malayalam rock band Avial, and also a composer. ‘Premikyumbol’ in Aashiq Abu’s Salt N’ Pepper was her first hit song, which bagged IMFA award for best female playback singer. She frequently worked with Aashiq Abu and recorded all the three songs of his next film, 22 Female Kottayam. Those songs are "Chillaane", "Melle Kollum" and "Neeyo".
Thaazhvaram and Nithya Sahaya Nathe from Thira, Mandarakatte and Kanadooram from 5 Sundarikal, Thithithara and Aarambathu from Second show are some of her popular film songs. She also provided back vocals for Picket 43. She is the lead singer of the music band, Vidwan, which performs in India as well as many other countries. She turned a music composer with Malayalam highly acclaimed film ‘Iyobinte Pusthakam’. Most of its songs were recorded in her voice. She collaborated with Yakzan Gary Pereira for composing its songs.
