Pawni Pandey Biography
Pawni Pandey is an Indian playback singer who shot to fame after singing the rehashed version of Laila Mein Laila for the movie, Raees. The item song featuring Sunny Leone went viral over net. She was finalist on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs, and finished at 5th position. She is also a live performer, known for her music concerts in India and abroad. Though she has spent more than one decade in film music industry, she earned recognition through Laila Mein Laila for SRK starrer movie, Raees in 2017.
She was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan in 1992. Her family shifted to Mumbai when she was 10, in aim to get good teachers in the city. She was drawn to the music world since very young, and started singing at the age of 3. Her parents recognized her true potential only when she was 9, and to pursue a career in music and to get good opportunities, the family moved to Mumbai.
She participated in the "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs" and won "Best Female Singer" trophy. However music directors insisted to continue studies, and at that time her voice was very young. She trained both Hindustani and Western music, and also completed her graduation in between. Since 2006, she rendered her voice for a few songs. Yet her real break was 2011 Salman Khan film, Bodyguard. But she had to wait long to get success in Bollywood.
Since childhood she has been a great admirer of Lata Mangeshkar. Currently she likes the singing of Arjit Singh, and wishes to sing with him. After the success of Laila Mein Laila, she is getting better opportunities in Bollywood. "Sahiba" from Phillauri and "Sweety Tera Drama" from Bareilly Ki Barfi are her recent songs.
