Poornachandra Tejaswi (kannada Composer) Biography

Poornachandra Tejaswi is a Kannada composer and lyricist, who works in Kannada film industry. As a composer he marked his debut with highly acclaimed movie, Lucia released in 2013. He also composed its background score, wrote all its songs and rendered his voice for ‘Thinbedakami’ song. Thus he marked his debut as a music composer, playback singer, lyricist and background scorer with a single movie. His tunes are known for unique blend of western and folk and emphasis on orchestration is his trademark style. Since his debut he has composed music for more than a dozen of films, predominantly in Kannada. He is an active member of theatre group, Niranthara foundation.

Poornachandra Tejaswi was born on 6 October 1982 in Karnataka. Srirangapatna in Mandya District is his hometown. Both his parents are teachers. He completed his software engineering studies, and also worked as an IT professional for a while, before he decided to pursue his true dreams of music. As a s/w professional he worked in Mysore in a software company. He already had Theatre background and was part of the Rock band - Stone age, before joining film world.

Through social media, when Pawan Kumar asked musicians to send samples of their own musical bits, Tejaswi also sent his own compositions, and after a few days Pawan Kumar responded to him. Luck favoured him, and thus Poornachandra Tejaswi got selected from many artists. The song from Lucia, "Thinbedakammi" was an instant hit. In fact the song was recorded in his own voice. It also bagged him the prestigious Filmfare award for Best Male Playback Singer. The album bagged best music award at State award functions. He later composed songs for U Turn, Hebbet Ramakka, Chambal, Fortuner, Bhujanga, Prema Geema Jane Do, Vascodigama, Rocket etc.
