Queen Hazarika Biography
Queen Hazarika is a successful playback singer, musician and actress from Assam. She predominantly works in Assamese film industry, and her popular songs are included in movies like Mon, Suren Suror Putek and Sneh Bandhan. She has also sung Bengali film songs. She is a recipient of Rotary Young Achiever Award in 2013, and has been nominated at Prag Cine Awards in the Best Female Playback category the same year. She has also released a few singles and appeared in music videos and TV shows too. Aawaz - Speak up against sexual violence was a music video made for social causes.
Hazarika was born in Lakhimpur, Assam on 16 October 1976. Raj Hazarika and Usha Gogoi Hazarika are her parents. She graduated from Handique Girl's College in Guwahati. Since young she was interested in different forms of music. She also liked acting since then. She gave her first stage performance at the age of four. Apart from films and independent music, she has lent her voice for numerous documentaries, AIR, Doordarshan shows, Assamese television etc. She has also sung for a handful of VCD films. Till now she has sung in Assamese, English, Bengali, Awadhi and Kannada languages, and has collaborated with many artists and singers for live performances and albums.
She also works in corporate banking sector since 2005. She joined ICICI Lombard as Operations Manager in 2005. Later she worked as Assistant Branch Service Manager at Reliance Life. In 2008 she joined Vodafone India. Joined as training Manager in 2008, she rose to the position of Zonal CS Head. She also writes columns for Eastern Chronicle. Hazarika is currently married and the mother of two children.
