Ramya Nsk Biography
Ramya NSK is a successful playback singer of Tamil. She is the granddaughter of legendary Tamil personalities – N. S. Krishnan and K. R. Ramasamy. N. S. Krishnan is Ramya’s paternal grandfather and K.R. Ramasami is her maternal grandfather. Satru Munbu from 2012 movie - Neethaane En Ponvasantham, composed by Ilaiyaraja is one of her most memorable songs. The song gave her Vijay Awards 2012 awards for the best female playback singer. She is a recipient of Filmfare awards 2013 for the same song too. She has sung more than 300 songs belonging to 5 different languages.
She was born and brought up in Chennai. She is trained in Carnatic as well as western music. She has spent 16 long years to learn music. Though she started with Carnatic music, later she got inclined western and contemporary styles and was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church Choir for 8 years. She completed Visual Communication from Women's Christian College and joined Radio City, an FM channel in Chennai. She worked as a music manager for long 5 years. She is quite popular as a contemporary singer.
She has sung with almost all leading directors of the industry like Harris Jayaraj, G.V. Prakash, James Vasanthan, Vijay Antony, C. Sathya, James Vasanthan, D. Imman, Thaman, Harris Jayaraj and G.V. Prakash. Her Telugu songs for the movies – Shadow, Dookudu, Ulavacharu Biriyani and Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu are quite popular. "Pom Pom Penne" of Biryani, "En Fuse Pochu" of Aarambam, "Nee Vandhu Ponadhu" of Yaan, "Enna Idhu" of Mouna Guru and “Unakenna Naan" of Kadhalil Vizhundhen are some of her popular tracks.
