Shreyan Chattopadhyay Biography
Shreyan Chattopadhyay is a young musician and singer from Bengal. He is the son of film and theatre director Debesh Chattopadhyay. His mother Kastury Chattopadhyay is a well-known actress and dancer. He composes songs, does playback singing, pens lyrics and also produces music. Thus he has dabbled in with different departments in the field of music, and has tasted success at a pretty young age. This talented young musician has also composed background music for many theater productions staged in Kolkata. Pancham Baidik's play "Machi" is his debut work as a music scorer, and he was only 20 years old then.
His birth name is Shreyan Chatterjee. His nickname is Dodo. Born into a family with strong artistic background, his entry to the same world was quite sure, since he was a child. He worked as an actor in his father's theatre group since his childhood days. He also appeared as a child artist for television. He was also seen in in his father's theatre production, "Break Fail". However he later chose a path quite different from that followed by his parents.
He got drawn towards music since his school days at Salt Lake School, where he was the lead guitarist of his school music band. During his high school days, he completely switched over to the field of music. Interestingly, a self-taught guitarist and composer, he never took formal training in music. Later years, he concentrated on to writing songs as well. He wrote and performed his own songs in various college events. In 2016, he released his first rock album, "Footprints on the Sea". He composed and arranged songs and wrote lyrics also, while his friend provided the vocals. Since then he went on to establish himself in the field of Bengali music.
