Stephen Day Biography
Stephen Day is a musician and vocalist associated with Indian classical and fusion music. He was born in California and brought up in Canada and France. As a composer, producer, instrumentalist, vocalist and teacher, he has been associated with the field of music for more than two decades. Stephen Day is a well-established artist in the field of sarod musical instrument, who mastered this art from world-renowned sarod player Ustad Amjad Ali Khan in India for three years. He has also released several musical albums including Indian classical and fusion music, and performed worldwide too. Till now he has conducted music shows in more than 21 countries including Europe.
Stephen Day was born in California. He was brought up in Canada and France. He reached India in the 1990s, where he became a disciple of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and mastered the art of Sarod. After that he embarked a journey across the world covering many countries with his music performances. He released his first music album in the mid-1990s. Some of his noted albums in Indian music include - Origins of Yoga (2005), Ajanta: Some Kind of Miracle (2003), Indian Classical Fusion (2001), Indian Dance Fusion (2000), East Meets West etc.
He conducted a few portions of music score of the movie, Formula 51 in 2001. He founded its money to found an NGO, Ombience, dedicated to spreading spirituality through art. Ombience, literally means the ambience of spiritual word - Om. He also teaches music to numerous students at various educational institutions, yoga centres and meditation organizations. He has collaborated with many renowned Indian artists on stage for his musical shows.
