Vijay Urs Biography

D. Vijaya Kumar, professionally known as Vijay Urs is a playback singer of south Indian origin. He hails from Mysore. He has also recorded over 5000 songs in devotional and folk, private albums. He is a trained Carnatic singer too, and has also recorded a few Kannada film songs. Student life and Kaanana Kaanana from Meravanige, Taala Tammate Dolu from Manasugala Maatu Madhura, Hongirana belakina hongirana from Paapigala lokadalli, Raani Jenu from Romeo Juliet, Dum dum dum dolu from Cheluve Ondu Heltini and Eedhdhelu herumba from Kanti are some of his famous film songs, all in Kannada language.

 

Vijay Urs was born in Mysore, Karnataka on 26 April 1980. He has one brother and two sisters. He studied Commerce and Industrial Management. He also took advanced studies in Carnatic music, before he forayed into singing. His professional career began with the private album, Bhavabindu. He was the song writer of the album also. Since then he recorded more than 5K songs belonging to different genres. He recorded numerous devotional albums, apart from penning more than 1000 songs. He is a recognised singer on Saavn and Gaana apps.

 

He has also recorded songs with many senior artists of the industry, the most prominent name being S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. He is also a live performer on stage. He has been performing in orchestra since 1998 and has completed 2 decades in this field. He has also recorded a few songs for Telugu soap dramas, apart from a very few Tamil film songs. He is into playback singing since 2002. Though he has many memorable film songs to his credit with many years of experience, he is yet to find a mark in playback singing.
