Akshaya Rao Biography
Akshaya Rao is a south Indian actress who appears in Telugu and Tamil movies. This budding actress has appeared as a teenager in the early 2000s, and currently associated with Kollywood playing supporting roles. In 2016 she appeared in one off stream Hindi film, Umformung: The Transformation and Yaali in 2018 is her most recent film. Hindi film, Umformung: The Transformation though is unfamiliar to Hindi audience it was quite popular in film festival circuits internationally. The film opened to critical acclaim and was shown in many film festivals. Akshaya played lead role in this film.
Akshaya Rao hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and was born to Telugu speaking couple. She was born on 22 August 1984. She started her film career in a supporting role in 2003 Tamil film, Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi where she appeared aside Simran. Same year she was seen in hit film Parthiban Kanavu as Amudha's friend. From there on, she got many supporting roles from Tamil and Telugu cinema. After staying three more years in the industry playing less significant roles like Thullum Kaalam, she got her first big break through Kalabhak Kadhalan playing the important character Kanmani. It was a negative role as the sister-in-law of Arya's character, who tries to seduce him.
Pazhaniyappa Kalloori, Uliyin Osai, Gaja, Engal Aasan, Uyarthiru 420 etc are the movies in which she appeared later. Though the actress has stayed more than 15 years in the south Indian industry, she is yet to find a breakthrough role in a leading role. She appeared in several low budget films and a few of them got shelved too.
