Alberrt Antoni Biography
Alberrt Antoni is a film director associated with Malayalam cinema, best known for the critically acclaimed movie - Kanne Madanguka released in 2005, which received numerous awards. He received Aravindan Puraskaram, Padmarajan Special Jury Award and John Abraham Special Jury Award for best film direction for this movie. The movie also won three Kerala state awards. His second release was a thriller - Vaadamalli released in 2011 and the film included some fresh faces like Rahul Madhav, Ramesh Raveendran and Richa Panai. Currently he is busy with his first international project Nairsan, which has a very rare combination of three legendary artists - Mohanlal, A. R. Rahman and Jackie Chan. The film will be shot extensively in Japan, Inner Mongolia and a few scenes in India.
He was born in Agra, Uttar Pradesh and brought up in south India. He schooled from Marthandam and completed graduation from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Albert is an aluminous of the Film and Television Institute in Adyar, Chennai. Currently he is settled in Mudavanmugal, Thiruvananthapuram. He made his directorial debut in 2005 with the movie – Kanne madanguka. The movie starred Murali and Navya Nair in lead roles and its title was taken from a noted caption of an article based on treatment of old people at general ward, Medical college hospital Thiruvananthapuram, from Matrubhumi newspaper which created big fumes, a couple of years back.
The movie was selected for Indian Panorama 2005 screened at the International Film Festival of India, Goa (2005) and also shown at many international film festivals. The movie also gave state award for best actress for Navya nair. The movie bagged many other awards as well.
