Ashrita Shetty Biography

Ashrita Shetty is an upcoming Indian actress who works in Tamil movies. In 2013, she debut with Tamil romantic thriller, Udhayam NH4 directed by Tamil director Manimaran. It was his first production venture. She was paired opposite Siddharth and Kay kay Menon appeared in supporting role. The movie generally received favourable reviews and did fairly well at box office. Simbudevan's Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum is her upcoming movie, where she is paired opposite Arulnithi. She also appears in a cameo role in forthcoming release, Indrajith opposite Gautham Karthik.

Ashrita belongs to Karnataka and she started her career as a model. She is a Finance student, currently settled in Mumbai. Ashrita participated in Times Fresh Face contest Mumbai where she was chosen as the winner. She also gained attention at National level and later she got many modelling assignments, with the face of the 'Clean & Clear' brand being one among the best. It impressed directors Vetrimaaran and Manimaran and thus Shetty was signed for lead role in their upcoming movie - Udhayam NH4. But she missed doing a film with well-known south Indian actor Mahesh Babu. In the movie she played a Bangalore-based Tamil college girl, who elopes with the character played by Siddharth. The movie received rave reviews and was commercially successful. Her performance as a newcomer also received praises from critics. The movie also starred Deepak, Ajai, Kalai, Karthi and Avinash in supporting roles.

Though a Kannadiga, she has not started yet her career in Kannada movies. She is the winner of Times Fresh Face of the Year award 2011. She has also done a few television ads and commercials, apart from movies.
