Bindu Panicker Biography
Bindu Panicker is a Malayalam actress most popular for comic roles and supporting roles. Her best performances are of the movies – Sootradharan (2001) and Sreekrishna Purathe Nakshathrathilakkam (1998). She has been indispensible part of Malayalam industry since 15 years or so. She is married to Saikumar, another popular actor of Malayalam and great actor of yesterdays, Kottarakara Shridhara Menon is her father-in-law. She was a member of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists executive committee and she has acted in about 150 Malayalam movies till now.
Among all her roles, her most powerful performance is always regarded as Sootradharan. It happened to be the debut movie of Meera Jasmine to film industry where she was paired opposite Dileep. In 2001, she won Kerala State Award for Second Best Actress for her powerful performance as Devumma, a generous lady who is engaged in sex business. It was a new face of this talented actress who has always appeared on screen as comedian or supporting actress only. She was the leading star of the movie leaving far behind the leading actors of the movie. Her powerful dialogue delivery was also well noted.
Among her earliest hits, the comedy flick - Sreekrishna Purathe Nakshathrathilakkam also needs special mention. She played one among the three illiterate house wives of a remote village who are huge fans of actress Nagma. Nagma plays the role of an actress who happens to come to their village as a part of film shooting and how these three women try to impress her is really witty. Bindu Panikar plays an illiterate lady who always tries to deliver English dialogues though she is not sure and always results in huge blunders.
