Bose Venkat Biography
Bose Venkat is a noted character artist associated with Tamil cinema and television. He is married to the noted south Indian actress Sonia, who played child artist in India’s First 3D film – My Dear Kuttichathan. The couple has one son and one daughter. Apart from a film and television actor, he has also worked as a dubbing artist. He dubbed for Atul Kulkarni for the movie – Veeram in 2014. Though he started off with film roles, he was not successful during his first innings. Later in the 1990s he moved to television which proved to be a right decision. His success in television gave him big break to Tamil cinema and now he is a busy star, portraying numerous character roles.
Bose Venkat was born in Chennai on 15 May 1975. With dreams to become an actor, he reached the cine world at the age of 17. His real life story is nothing short of a film script. He regularly attended auditions and strived for a break. Though he received a few bit roles nothing was significant and he even did the job of an auto driver to earn a living. While working as an auto driver, he attended the auditions of the television series - “Metti Oli” in 2002. He was lucky enough to get selected from more than thousand aspirants for the role. It proved to be a major break of his acting career.
Impressed with his performance in “Metti Oli”, the highly acclaimed director Bharathiraja offered him a negative role in his film, Eera Nilam. Though the movie was not a big hit, his role got noticed. Subsequently he got more film offers and very soon established as a character artist of Tamil cinema. He has worked with many leading directors like Mani Ratnam and Shankar and one of his memorable roles is Rajinikanth starrer Sivaji. A major turning point occurred in his career when Karunanidhi cast him as the lead actor in his movie, Kalaignarin Kannamma.
