Edida Nageswara Rao Biography 
Edida Nageswara Rao was a film producer from Telugu film industry. He owned the production company - Poornodaya Movie Creations, which produced milestone movies like Sankarabharanam and many others. Sankarabharanam, Swayam Krushi, Sagara Sangamam, Swathi Muthyam, Swayamkrushi, Siri Siri Muvva and Swati Mutyam are his highly acclaimed films, showcased at many film festivals and won many awards. Many of his films had a classic touch. He is a recipient of Life Time Achievement Award of Sangam Academy.
He has also played a character role in 1974 Telugu drama film - Bantrotu Bharya, directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, before he entered film production. Many of his movies have won several national awards and Nandi awards. He has produced 10 movies in total. His films showcased at Moscow film festival - Sankarabharanam, Swayam Krushi, Siri Siri Muvva and Swati Mutyam were dubbed to Russian language. Most of his classic hits had film titles starting with ‘S’ alphabet. He passed away on 4 October 2015 at a private hospital aged 81. He was undergoing treatment for old-age related ailments.
Edida Nageswara Rao was born on 24 April 1934 in Kothapeta of East Godavari. Sattiraju Naidu is his father’s name. Nageswara Rao started his career as a theatre artiste. Later he became a character artist and dubbing artist of Telugu cinema, before he turned a film producer. He turned a producer after forming Poornodaya Movie Creations in 1978 and produced the film Siri Siri Muvva, which was a runaway hit. The movie was directed by K. Vishwanath. Though he produced only 10 movies during his lifetime, all the movies were popular. Shankarabharanam brought him critical acclaim at the global level.
