Geeta Kapoor Biography
Geeta Kapoor is an upcoming Indian choreographer who works most for Bollywood films. She has assisted choreographer Farah Khan for 18 years and has become a part of many memorable songs. She is one of the three judges for the Indian reality dance talent show, Dance India Dance - Season 2. She also mentors 18 dancers, known by the name 'Masters'. Geeta Kapoor has also choreographed many award ceremonies, concerts like Temptation Reloaded and the opening ceremony of Pepsi IPL 2013. Kapoor has moved to small screen and has judged dance shows like "Dance India Dance", "DID L'il Masters", "DID Doubles" and "Dance Ke Superkids".
Geeta Kapoor was born on 5 July 1973 in Mumbai. She started her Bollywood journey at the age of 15 as the assistant of noted choreographer Farah Khan. Now she has assisted Farah for nearly 18 years and considers her as ‘second mother’. A few of the movies in which Geeta assisted Farah include – Kuch kuch hota hai, Tees maar khan, Tera naal love ho gaya, Kal no na ho, Mein hoon na, Asoka, Fiza, Saathiya and Bollywood dreams. She has also worked as secondary, background dancer in many song sequences like Tujhe yaad na meri aayi of Kuch kuch hota hai, Gori gori gori of Mein hoon na, Nayak and Dum tara song of Suchitra Krishnamoorthi.
Geeta Kapur made her television debut with the reality show Dance India Dance on Zee TV in the year 2008. She trained a group which was called Geeta ki gang. She was joined by celebrity judges like Terrence Lewis and Remo D'Souza and Mithun Chakrabarty. She is strong in the conventional Hindi song dance styles and shows a special talent while teaching her students. In her opinion, dealing with kids is much easier than adult contestants. She is equally successful in choreographing event functions also.
