Gulshan Grover Biography

Gulshan Grover is a well known villain of Bollywood, popularly known as ‘Bad man of Bollywood’. He is known for his comic roles as well. He is a film producer and entrepreneur also. He has received numerous awards and recognitions both Indian films as well as abroad. Actually, the role played by Irrfan Khan in Slumdog millionaire was meant for him. He rejected the role and it became one of the memorable roles of Khan later. Gulshan has won the Best Actor International at New York City Film Festival & Houston Film Festival, for his performance in the movie 'Desperate Endeavours', where he played the role of Indian god man. He won Stardust Searchlight Awards-Best Actor for best supporting actor for the movie, I am Kalam in the year 2011. He also won nomination at national awards for the same role. Now Dhoom 3 is set to release where he plays a significant role.

 
His smooch scene with Katrina Kaif in her debut movie, Boom gained public attention as well as controversy. But later the actor has revealed that he was quite uncomfortable doing that scene and had done practice several times in a closed room. He has appeared in more than 400 films in his career spanning through 32 years. He endorses many products also. He has appeared in a few Khiladi movies including - International Khiladi, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi and Sabse bada khiladi. A few more memorable movies include – Sadma, Soni Mahiwal, Ram lakhan, Love love love, Yes Boss, Hera Pheri, Lajja, Jumbo, Agent Vinod, Mohra, Raja Babu, Criminal, Ek khiladi ek hassena, Saudagar and Tarzan: The wonder car.


Gulshan was born and brought up in Delhi. He had his education also in Delhi. He completed his master's degree in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce and later moved to Mumbai, the dreamland of cinema to pursue his dreams in Bollywood. He previously had theatre experiences as well and has many stage productions with the well-known "Little Theatre Group" before he moved to Mumbai. He took training in acting from prestigious Actor's Studio also. He entered Bollywood during 1980’s. He appeared in 1980 movie, Hum paanch in a bit role, Mahavir. During late 1980’s, he emerged as ‘bad man of Bollywood’.
