Ileana DCruz Biography

Ileana D’cruz is an Indian film actress and model who concentrates in Telugu film industry. She entered film industry in the year 2006 and has acted in more than 20 films. Many of them were blockbusters which helped her to establish her role as a heroine in the Telugu film industry.

Ileana was born on 1^st November 1987 in Mumbai in Maharashtra. Her father’s name is Ronald D’Cruz and her mother’s name is Samira. She has one elder sister named Farrah, one younger brother named Rhys and one younger sister named Eileen. Her father is a Roman Catholic and her mother is a Muslim. Her father is a lawyer and her mother worked as a manager in a hotel and she spent her younger years at Goa.

She completed her schooling at Goa and got her graduation from Bombay University. She was initially very reluctant to show her face in the screen. Her meeting March Robinson while at Goa marked the beginning of her modeling career. She started to take part in the photo shoots and ramp shows. She did some commercials including those for Electrolux, Emami Talc and Fair and Lovely.

Ileana’s debut movie was a feature film in Telugu named Devadasu in 206 directed by Y.V.S. Chowdhary which got her Filmfare award. She took some lessons in acting joining acting classes before she started working in movies. She did not want to act in films but was encouraged and supported by her mother to proceed further in this line.

Her Tamil film debut was through the film Kedi in 2006 which was a failure. She stayed away from Tamil film industry for quite a while and reentered in 2012 through the film Nanban by Shankar. She entered Hindi film industry also in 2012 through her debut film Barfi! which received many positive reviews. Her second film in Hindi is with Shahid Kapoor named Phata Poster Nikla Hero.
