Jaya Prakash Reddy Biography

Jaya Prakash Reddy is one of the most wanted villains of Telugu film industry. He debut big screen with 1988 movie, Brahma Putrudu and his first noted appearance was for the movie, "Samarasimha Reddy" where he played the role of Veera Raghava Reddy. This movie was his first major role. Later he played main antagonist in blockbuster hits like "Jayam Manade Raa" and "Chenna Kesava Reddy" which placed him as one of the most talented villains of the industry. He introduced Rayalaseema slang in films, starting with Preminchukundam Raa in 1997 which marked a new career beginning. Apart from negative roles, he has also done a few comedy roles like combination with Brahmanandam in Brahmi Gadi Katha. He is now regarded as one of the assets of Telugu film industry.

He was born in born at Sirivella, Allagadda and lived 30 years in Nalgonda. He got settled with his professional career in Guntur and currently he stays in Hyderabad. He doesn’t own the bad habits of drink and smoke though his friends often invite him for such get-togethers. Now at the age of 65, he has reduced his work considerably. Madatha Kaja, Oosaravelli and Kandireega were his recent released movies. Now he is active with theatre too. ‘Alexander’ is one such successful show most recently staged at Hyderabad.

He is known for introducing Rayalaseema slang in films, for which people admire him a lot. His grandparents lived in Seema and his father too worked there as a police inspector. His father was a stage actor too, which influenced Jaya Prakash since early days. Jaya Prakash worked as a headmaster in a school and during vacations, he got engaged with films. He has also been a stage artist before entering movies.
