Karunakaran (actor) Biography

Karunakaran is a successful Tamil actor known for the movies, Soodhu Kavvum, Pizza, and Yaamirukka Bayamey. He played one of the lead roles in the movie, Soodhu Kavvum, which was a huge commercial and critical success. He made his acting debut through short films and known for his wits and perfect timings.

Karunakaran was brought up in Delhi. Later he moved to Trichy with his parents. He graduated in chemical engineering from SASTRA University. Then he joined IT professional at Accenture when he got his first acting role. The role was offered by Nalan Kumarasamy, a short film maker who is Karnunakaran’s friend too. The short film was for Tamil reality television show, Naalaya Iyakkunar. Later he appeared in many shot films of which, award winning ‘Nenjuku Neethi‘ earned him critics’ appreciation.

 
His first film offer was given by Sundar C. Pizza, released in 2012 was the breakthrough movie of his career. In this Tamil suspense supernatural thriller, he played the supporting role of Raghavan, Michael’s friend. He also appeared in Kalakalappu in 2012. In 2013, Soodhu Kavvum was released. In this black comedy, he played the pivot role of Arumai Pragasam, followed by Yaamirukka Bayamey. All these roles have been well noticed and a series of movies are set to release.

 
Yaamirukka Bayamey, a horror comedy film is his latest release. The movie received positive response from critics as well as audience. Nanbenda, Kanithan, Kappal, Mahabalipuram, Aadama Jaichomada, Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani and Lingaa are his upcoming movies. He is to team up once again with Pizza’s director Karthik Subbaraj for the big budget movie – Jigarthanda.
