Kona Venkat Biography
Kona Venkat is an ace screenwriter writer and director of Telugu cinema. He also works in Bollywood. He has writer script for numerous Tollywood hits like Ready, Dhee, Venky, Alludu Seenu, Adurs, Geethanjali, Happy, Samba, Baadshah, Dookudu, and Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. He occasionally works as an actor and lyricist for movies. As a writer he is active in the industry since early 2000s, and has directed one bilingual - Naan Aval Adhu (Nenu Tanu Aame) in 2008 though not released yet. He received Santosham Film Awards for best story for the movie – Ready.
He was born on 19 February 1965 in Bapatla. He has directed one bilingual movie starring Madhavan, Shamita Shetty and Sadha. However the movie got shelved after the producer had failed to pay technicians. He is planning to make a comeback as a director and speculation is rife that he will be directing Ravi Teja in his maiden directorial. Venkat narrated a plot point to actor Ravi Teja on the sets of Power, which the actor has given a nod and asked Venkat to develop the film script.
The duo of Kona Venkat and director Srinu Vitla has delivered many hilarious films like Ready and Dookudu. But they spotted differences during the shoot of NTR ‘Baadshah’ in 2014. This writer is known for his Midas touch as many of his scripts went on to become big blockbusters. The dialogues are Balupu and Dookudu were well appreciated. Though known to be a reputed writer, directors association has fired on Kona Venkat for his comments in a recent interview for a newspaper in 2013. In September 2013 he was also booked for drunken driving once.
