Kunal Ganjawala Biography

Kunal Ganjawala is a famous playback singer of present times, who has sung for both Bollywood and Kannada movies. He has debut Malayalam most recently with ‘Anchu sundarikal’. Kunal ganjawala is most known for ‘Bheegi hot tere’ of Murder that made him star overnight. He is one among the most sought playback singers of Bollywood at present. His ‘Neene Neene’ of Aakash in the year 2005, made him a leading playback singer of Kannada movies. His major Bollywood hits include Maula maula of Singham, Kata kata of Raavan, Jhalak dikla jaa of Aksar, Dil de diya of Phir hera pheri, Oh humdum suniyo re of Saathiya, Raat ke dhai baje of Kaminey, You are my life of All the best, Title track of Aitraaz, Tauba tauba of Kaal, Nachle o nana nachle of Lakeer, Tere pyar mein of Isi life mein, Dupatta tera of Partner, Pari and Masha alla of Sawariya and title track of Yeh Saali Zindagi. He is the favourite of A.R.Rehman and has sung for ‘Maro Maro’ of Boys in 2003 along with Karthik.

Kunal Ganjawala debut Bollywood through Sa re ga ma pa of ZEE TV, where he became the winner. His first song was for the movie Ab ke baras – the debut movie for both Amrita Arora and Arya Babbar. Oh humdum suniyo re of Saathiya also helped him a lot in grooming his career. ‘Murder’ made him star overnight and gave him his first Filmfare awards too, in the leading singer category male.  Then he entered Kannada music industry and his first song itself turned to be a big hit. Song was Neene neene composed by R.P. Patnaik. Songs of Mungaru male earned him stardom in Kannada movies and he engaged in many big projects afterwards.

Kunal Ganjawala was graduated from St. Peter's School, Mazagaon. As a child he wanted to become an actor or chartered accountant. But it was the appreciation and support given by his parents from childhood that his passion turned towards music and its tunes. His other hits are ‘Dil na diya’ of Krishh and title song of Salam-E-Ishq. He is married to playback singer Gayathri Iyyer.
