Magizh Thirumeni Biography
Magizh Thirumeni is a well-known film director who has worked on Tamil language films. Magizh has directed four Tamil films, including the action thrillers, Thadaiyara Thaakka (2012) and Meaghamann (2014). Mundhinam Paartheney (2010) and Thadam (2017) are other releases. He made his first full-fledged film as a film director in the year 2010. The action thriller, Meaghamann (2014) with Arya in the leading role was released in December 2014 to positive reviews. Thadam is his recent flick. He started his career as an assistant director in the industry in the early 2000s with the film, Thulluvadho Ilamai.
Magizh was an avid reader of Tamil and Russian literature during his teens, and he loved reading a lot. Slowly he started writing poetry and short stories. He later attempted novels and writing scripts. Atsome point of time, he was smitten by the magic of films and film making, which he couldn’t survive. He started visiting the offices of directors including P. Vasu and T. Rajender, in hope of a chance in film making. It happened in the early 2000s. Director Kasthuri Raja signed him to work on his son’s debut film, but the project got delayed. Later he worked as an assistant director for the film, Thulluvadho Ilamai.
He later assisted Gautham Menon for Kakka kakka and also Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. He made his directorial debut with the 2010 romantic comedy film Mundhinam Paartheney. The low-budget film had newcomers and had a low key release. The movie opened to mixed reviews. His second film was an action thriller titled - Thadaiyara Thaakka (2012) featuring Arun Vijay. The movie became a sleeper hit. the movie went on to gain a cult following after it was uploaded in YouTube.
