Mansoor Ali Khan Biography
Mansoor Ali Khan is a Tamil film actor who predominantly appears in supporting roles. He has also played the role of lead or a supporting antagonist during 1990’s. This actor has been involved in some criminal cases like land-grabbing in 2012 and a high profile criminal case of rape during the height of his career. But it was later proved to be falsely implicated, though he has to spend some time behind bars. After 16 years, Madras court ordered the woman had to pay Rs 50 lakh for accusing actor of rape. In July 1998, he was arrested for causing a roadblock and obstructing traffic. Khan also has brief stint in politics and has also contested in elections twice as an independent candidate and Pattali Makkal Katchi.
Mansoor appeared in Tamil movies in the middle 1980’s in bit roles. He appeared as a background dancer for a disco song sequence for the movie, Padikkathavan. In the early 1990’s, he started gaining roles in movies as supporting antagonist of action movies. Captain Prabhakaran, Chemparathi, Thangamana Thangachi, Rudra, Deiva Kuzhanthai, Chinna Poovai Killathe etc are movies of early 1990’s in which he appeared in supporting role or as assistant of main villain.
He was at the peak of his career when he was falsely accused of rape by a 23-year-old woman, Sneha Sharma. She accused that she applied for his woman secretary post seeing newspaper ads. According to her, on December 8, 1996, he took her to a hotel at Vadapalani and raped her giving drug-laden drink. Later he appointed her as secretary and had sexual relationship with her giving false promises of marriage. But when she became pregnant, he threatened to kill her. This news brought him in the middle of adverse publicity and the actor lost his shining acting career as well. In 2001, he was sentenced to seven years imprisonment and was asked to pay compensation. But it was later proved in the court that the lady was already married in 1994. According to Mansoor, his association with the woman was purely on humanitarian considerations.
