Anyone who has seen Raja Hindusthani will never forget the lady who has done the role of Karishma Kapoor’s friend who accompanies her to Palankhet where she falls in love with Aamir. She did the role of a sincere friend very well and played a significant role in the super success of that movie too. The lady is none other than Navneet Nishan, a lady known to every home through serials like Kasuthi Zindagi ke, Tara and Kavyanjali. She is a known face everywhere as she is a popular actress of daily soaps of Zee television.

She has done a few movies as well in supporting roles. She debuted through Waaris in 1988 and has done a few movies like Yeh lamhe hai judai ke, Hum hain rahi pyra ke, My name is khan, Akele hum akele tum and Dilwale. During the fisrt phase of her career, she has done a few roles of vamp, where she tries to seduce and attract the leading hero of the movie. We have seen her doing such roles in Hum hain rahi pyar ke of Aamir Khan and Yeh lamhe hain judai ke of Shah rukh khan. Yeh lamhe hain judai ke was a lagged project, though shot at 1993, got released years later in 2004. Her role in Tum bin as Piya’s aunty was also well appreciated. Marriage song pictured on her was also well noted that time. Songs of Tum bin are remembered for its melodious tunes.

In ‘Hum hain rahi pyar ke’ she plays the pivot role, where she tries to attract her school friend and wants to marry him. The story slowly moves in that direction and it was a blockbuster hit too. Her negative role played a significant role in the success of the movie and she did it very well. She has done character roles in a few movies like Dhadkan, Wah kya kehna, Chupa rustham, Kya kehna, Mela, Gangster, Achanak, Jaanam samja karo, Hadh karde aapne, 2001 – Do hazaar ek, aap ko pehle bhi kahi dekha hai, Bewafaai, kaun hai jo sapno mein aaya,  Ajab prem ki gazab kahani and Always kabhi kabhi. Her distinguished looks and hair style were always noted in the movies she has acted, though she has done only small roles.
