Prabhu Biography
Prabhu is an Indian film actor and a producer who has acted in nearly 200 films in his acting career that spans over three decades. He belongs to a family of filmy background and both his father and son are actors.
He was born on 31st December 1956 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. His full name is Prabhu Ganesan. His father is Sivaji Ganesan, the veteran actor in Tamil film industry and his mother is Kamala Ganesan. He completed his schooling at Bishop Cotton Boys School at Bangalore. He has two sisters named Shanthi and Thenmozhi. His brother Ramkumar Ganesan is a film producer. He married Punitha and has two children Vikram Prabhu and Aishwarya Prabhu. His son Vikram is also an emerging actor.
Prabhu entered film industry in 1982 through the film Sangili. He has acted with many top stars of South India including Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan and his father Sivaji Ganesan and has received many awards for his film career. He has also played supporting roles and character roles in many films.
He entered the Telugu film industry through the film Orange and has also appeared in few films of Malayalam language. Some of the films that he has acted include Chinna Vathiyar, Periya Kudumbam, Kattumarakaran, Panchalankurichi, Jallikattu Kaalai, Budget Padmanabhan, Kandha Kadamba Kathir Vela, Middle Class Madhavan, Charlie Chaplin, Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi, Ayan, Thillalangadi, Raavanan, etc.
