Pranav Singh Biography
Pranav Singh is an Indian politician from Uttarakhand belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party. He belongs to the royal family of Gujjar, and he is also addressed as Kunwar Pranav Singh 'Champion' or simply’ Champion’. Till 2016 he was affiliated to Indian National Congress Party. He has been elected to state assembly four times since its inception. Currently an MLA representing Khanpur, he has previously served as a cabinet minister in the ministries led by N. D. Tiwari, Vijay Bahuguna & Harish Rawat. He is one of the senior most party leaders of Uttarakhand. His father Raja Narendra Singh is also a politician. Pranav’s son Divye Pratap Singh is a shooter.
Kunwar Pranav Singh 'Champion' belongs to a royal family of Uttarakhand. His father Raja Narendra Singh is the present titular king of Gujjar Landhaura Riyasat and also a politician previously associated with Bharatiya Lok Dal. He has also served as a member of Laksar Vidhan Sabha Constituency. Pranav is also a descendant of Raja Ram Dayal Singh, Gujjar king of Landhaura state and the uncle of "First Freedom Fighter" Raja Vijay Singh Gujjar. Raja Ram Dayal Singh formed Kunja Bahadurpur Riyasat.
As a politician, his career began in association with Indian National Congress. Kunwar Pranav Singh was affiliated to Congress before he joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016. In fact he was a member of state legislative assembly of Uttarakhand representing Indian National Congress. He revolted against the Harish Rawat-led INC government, along with 8 other MLAs. He was disqualified as a legislator. Later he joined Bharatiya Janata party and successfully contested 2017 state assembly elections too. Champion has been a three-time legislator from Haridwar district.
