Ragasudha Biography
Ragasudha is a south Indian film actress who appears in all the four south Indian language films, and she predominantly works in Tamil and Kannada film industries. She is the daughter of K. R. Savithri, a former Indian actress who predominantly worked in Malayalam and Tamil movies in the 1970s and 1980s. She is the niece of famous south Indian actresses, K. R. Vijaya and K. R. Vatsala. Her sister Anusha is a former south Indian actress who was most active throughout 1990s till early 2000s. Ragasudha was formerly married to actor Ranjith and now they have filed for a divorce.
Ragasudha was born in Chennai into a family with many film actors and strong links to south Indian film industry. She is the daughter of Tamil actress K. R. Savithri and sister of actress Anusha. Both her aunts are also film actresses, and following their footsteps she too reached the same field of acting. She played lead, parallel lead and supporting roles in numerous films throughout 1990s till mid- 2000s. She married her co-star and actor Ranjith in 2014 at Thiruvenkadu Temple, Sirkazhi. But due to personal indifferences they got separated before their first anniversary.
Ragasudha has been associated with film industry since early 1990s, like her sister. Tamil movie Thangathin Thangam which was released in 1990 marked her acting debut. She was casted in the lead role opposite Ramarajan in her debut flick. She was regular in Tamil films throughout 1990s till mid-2000s. She joined Malayalam film industry in early 2000s and worked in a couple of films in supporting roles. She also worked in Kannada movies at the same period. Government Mappillai, Kamarasu, Jallikattu Kaalai, Thamizhachi, Abhimanyu, Sivasakthi, Kadhalar Dhinam, Dhinamum Ennai Gavani, Nerrukku Ner etc are some of her Tamil films.
