Rajendra Prasad (actor) Biography
Rajendra Prasad is one of the most popular comedians of Telugu cinema. In a career spanning to more than three decades, he has starred in more than 200 Telugu films and a few Tamil movies. He is popularly known by the title, 'King of Comedy' for numerous comic roles portrayed onscreen. He also won the prestigious Nandi awards for best actor twice for "Erra Mandaram" (1991) and "Aa Naluguru" (2004). He has also received an honorary doctorate from Andhra University. His role in 2012 medical thriller Dream earned him the Royal Reel Award along with director K. Bhavani Shankar at the Canada International Film Festival. He has been honoured with the title "Hasya Keerti" also. He has appeared in one Bollywood movie, Quick gun Murugan.
His full name is Gadde Rajendra Prasad. He was born on 19 July 1956 in Nimmakuru, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. He was born in a middle class family. He was born in the house of legendary N.T.Rama Rao's. He completed graduation with a diploma in Ceramic Engineering. Then he entered film field in supporting roles. Vamsy's Ladies Tailor was his first major role. Aha Naa Pellanta directed by Jandhyala established him as a leading name of Telugu film industry.
Though he is known for comic roles most, he has also played supporting and character roles in several movies. Most recently he received Best Actor in a Supporting Role in the 2013 for the movie, Julai at South Indian International Movie Awards. Same year, Onamalu gave him CineMAA Award for Best Outstanding Actor. Noothi lo kappalu, Manushulatho Jagartha and Aagudu are his upcoming movies.
