Rameshwari Biography

Rameshwari is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Bhojpuri and south Indian movies. Among her Hindi movies, her debut film, 'Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye' released in 1977 was a super hit. Though she appeared in lesser number of movies, she is known for her innocent looks and sweet smile. She is also known by the name - 'Talluri Rameswari'. She is a graduate of FTII, Pune 1975 batch. She is known for her ability to communicate through her emotive eyes. 'Seetamalakshmi', released in 1978 directed by K.Viswanath is her most successful Telugu movie. She portrayed the role of 'Seetalu' which gave her a Nandi award as well. Sunayana, Mera Rakshak and Sharda are other noted Kannada movies. Now she works in television serials.

She hails from West Godavari, Andhra pradesh. She spent her childhood at Kakinada. She has two elder sisters. One of her sisters, Krishna Kumari has appeared in a few Telugu movies. She debut big screen with Bollywood flick - Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye (1977). Her second movie, Asha (1980) earned her a Filmfare award for best supporting actress. She married her FTII class mate, Deepak Seth who is a Punjabi actor and producer and couple has two sons. After marriage she took break from the industry and returned back when her kids grew up. Later she started doing mature roles.

"Hun Farishte Nahin" (1988) and Mein tuun assin tussin (2007) are the couple of movies produced by Deepak Seth and Rameshwari. She played Abhishek bachchan’s mother in Yash films’ super hit movie, Bunty Aur Babli. She also appeared in F.A.L.T.U. Currently she is busy with television serials.
