Rao Ramesh Biography

Rao Ramesh is a Telugu film actor and son of actor of famous yesterdays, Rao Gopal Rao – a legendary villain on big screen. He is associated with film field since early 2000s. His real dream was to become a still photographer. But later he stepped into his father’s shoes. In Gamyan, he played the role of a changed naxalite and this single role changed his life also. He is an actor who got late success in Tollywood.

He was born in Srikakulam and brought up in Chennai, where he completed his studies. It was during his graduation at Chennai, he got attracted to the art of still photography. He regularly visited British and American libraries to learn more about photography and he became addicted to this art as well. Later he became an assistant to K. S. Prakasa Rao. Later he was advised by cinematographer VSR Swamy and sent him to a friend at Bangalore where he learnt about industrial photography. Though he wanted to go abroad for advanced studies in photography, his parents disagreed. In between he lost his father and Ramesh sat at home idle for 7 years.

He wrote a few stories and wanted to become a director. But his mother who is a former harikatha exponent suggested him to act.  It took one year for his mother to convince him and he acted in one television serial though it got stalled. Though he tried in films he didn’t get offers and then he got associated with television. He got a small role in the movie, Seema Simham. He was a part of television industry for more than 4 years and appeared in serials, Pavitra Bandham, Kalavari Kodalu etc. Gamyam was his real break to film industry and thus he established himself as a successful actor onscreen.
