Rubina (actress) Biography

Rubina is a successful actress known for playing character roles in Bollywood and Punjabi movies since 2007. She has also made her mark in the industry as a screenwriter for Punjabi movies, voiceover artist and dubbing artist. She marked her acting debut in Bollywood with Namastey London released in 2007, playing the role of Akshay Kumar’s bhabi (sister-in-law). At the age of 22, a fresh-out from college, she played a mature role as Akshay Kumar’s sister-in-law. Later she became regular in Punjabi movies, and occasionally worked in Bollywood movies too. She is also a voiceover and dubbing artist and wrote the screenplay for Punjabi film Yaaran Da Katchup in 2014.

 

Rubina was born on 22 March 1984 in Chandigarh, Punjab. Rubina started her acting career on TV in 2001, and later got active in theatre as well. As a stage actor, she acted in the plays - Prajit Nayak, Study through Theatre Project, Gaz Foot Inch, Guffaien, Urubhangam, Nagmandal etc, before she made her screen debut in a supporting role through Namastey London in 2007. She was spotted and asked to come for auditions by the team, and she grabbed the role. The following year, she played the role of Kareena's cousin in Jab We Met. She later got active in Punjabi movies and also tried dubbing field.

 

Same year she marked her debut in Punjabi movies through Hashar. As a Punjabi actress, she worked in the movies, Munde Pataile de, Kismat Love Paisa Dilli, Lucky Di Unlucky Story, Jatt James Bond etc playing supporting roles. In 2014 she was seen in the role of girl impersonating Preet in Punjabi hit film, Bhaji in Problem. Theatre is always her first love, and also loves to do good roles in films, not compromising with ethics.
