Sanghavi Biography
Sanghavi is a south Indian film actress who has appeared in about 100 films, belonging to Tamil, Kannada and Telugu languages. She has been a model before her entry to films. Her real name is Kavya Ramesh and she belongs to Mysore. She was rechristened as Sanghavi by producer Chola Ponurangam. She along with superstar Ajith Kumar debuted big screen in 1993 with the movie – Amaravathi, which was a box office hit. Tamil film Porkkaallam is one of her memorable roles in supporting roles. She played female lead in popular Tamil serial - Gokulathil Seethai, aired on Kalaignar TV during the period 2008-2009. Savithri (2013) and Kalavairavan (2014) are her other noted television works.
Sanghavi was born in Mysore. She made her film debut in the year 1993 at the age of 16, with another debutant of Tamil cinema, Ajith Kumar who later went on to become a big star. The movie was Porkkaallam directed by Selva. Ajith had earlier worked as a lead actor in Telugu romantic film, Prema Pusthakam while it was Sanghavi’s debut film. The film producer Chola Ponurangam gave his daughter’s name to Kavya and later she came to be known as Sanghavi in the film industry. The movie opened to a positive response at the box office. After the success of her debut movie, she got more offers from the film industry.
Rasigan was her second release where she was paired with Vijay. The movie was directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar, Vijay’s father. Similar to her debut film, Rasigan also became a success at box office and completed 150 days, and Vijay later became a star of Tamil cinema. She made her Kannada debut with Love 94 in 1994 and Telugu debut with Taj Mahal in 1995. Since then she acted in about 100 films belonging to these three languages. She also acted in 1997 Bollywood film, Sher-E-Hindustan aside Mithun Chakraborty and Madhoo.
