Sarfaraz Khan (actor) Biography

Sarfaraz Khan is an Indian actor and producer associated with Bollywood. He is the son of veteran actor of Bollywood, Kadar Khan known for portraying both negative and comic roles. Though Sarfaraz couldn’t achieve the same success as his father, he has achieved success for a few brief roles. He was a part of two big movies of Salman Khan – Tere Naam and Wanted, regarded as landmark roles and career turning point of Salman’s acting career. Sarfaraz has great passion to theatre and has worked in theatre before coming to movies. In 2012, he along with his father and brother has started a theater company - Kal Ke Kalakar International Theatre Company. Sarfaraz also edits short films.

Sarfaraz Khan was born on 22 April 1976 in Mumbai to a family with filmy background. When he was born, his father Kader Khan was shining as a villain on big screen associated with several action thrillers. He has one brother Shahnawaz Khan who has also appeared in movies. Before coming to films, Sarfaraz had worked on stage as an actor and play director. He directed the plays, Badi Der Ki Meherbaan Aate Aate and Local Train before coming to silver screen. He has also produced plays in Hindi and Gujarati like Taash Ke Patte & Raja The To Bhare Kari respectively. Since childhood he has assisted his father for several theatric productions. But Kadar Khan initially doesn’t want his son to join film industry.

Since 2002 he has worked in Bollywood films portraying supporting roles. Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, Tere Naam, Bazaar etc are some of his early appearances. Salman was impressed by his performance for Maine Dil Tujhko Diya directed by his brother, and offered him a role in Tere Naam. Later he was seen in a negative role with Arbaaz and Sohail in Kisaan. Sarfaraz has worked with Salman and his brothers regularly for several films since 2002.
