Satish Shah Biography
Satish Shah is a popular film and television actor. He is known for supporting roles in films and has played lead role in many comic serials of Doordarshan during early 90’s. He has worked in both Hindi and Marathi and most known for his comic roles. He appeared in cult comedy classic - 1983 movie Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro directed by Kundan Shah. He played the role of Municipal Commissioner D'Mello in this movie. His popular television serials are Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (directed by Kundan Shah) and P A Saab. Other television programs include - Sarabhai VS Sarabhai, All the best, Ghar Jamai, Dhamaal, Filmi chakar and Philips top 10. He has also appeared in numerous commercials.
Satish Shah has been a part of Hindi film industry since late 70’s and is still active. His recent releases are - Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Milenge Milenge, Ra. One and Khichdi: The Movie. He played significant roles in blockbuster hits like Kaho na pyar hai, Fanaa, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Masthi, Judwa, Om Shanti Om, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Kabhi haan kabhi naa, Mein hoon na and Kal Ho Naa Ho. His memorable roles as friend of Jitendra in Hatim tai, Uncle/House owner’s role in Kaho na pyar hai and professor’s role in Mein hoon na. He has been a part of many all-time blockbusters of Hindi film industry during 90’s and later including DDLJ, Hum aapke hain kaun, Om Shanti om and Kaho na pyar hai.
Satish Shah entered movies during late 70’s. "Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan" and "Toofani Takkar" released in 1978 marked his successful debut. Throughout 80’s he appeared in less significant roles. It was through popular Doordarshan sitcom of 1980’s, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi he became a household name. From 1990’s onwards Satish appeared in different shades in Hindi and Marathi movies. Yet his comic roles are remembered most.
