Satya Bhabha Biography
Satya Bhabha is a British-born American actor of Indian Origin. He was born to famous professor Homi K. Bhabha and lecturer Jacqueline Bhabha, both of Indian origin. Satya Bhabha appears in television as well as movies. Apart from US productions, he also acted in Mira Nair’s highly acclaimed - Midnight's Children (2012), where he played the male protagonist - Saleem Sinai. Among West audience, he is best known for the role as Matthew Patel in the film - Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and Shivrang in the television series - New Girl (2013).
Satya was born in 1983 in London, UK into a family of lecturers. Both his parents are famous lecturers - Professor Homi K. Bhabha and lecturer Jacqueline Bhabha. Both are of Indian origin, now settled in UK. His father is of Parsi heritage while his mother was born to German parents in India. Satya graduated from Yale University and was associated with theater in his academic years as an actor and director. He was a member of Skull and Bones, and was a recipient of the Louis Sudler Prize for Excellence in the Arts. He has appeared as a child artist for the film - Swordswallowers and Thin Men in 2003.
He made his acting debut as a teenager in 2010 with the movies - Fair Game and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World earned him appreciation and several film award nominations like Scream Award for Best Villain and Detroit Film Critics Society Award for Best Ensemble. In 2012, he was approached by famous director Mira Nair for the film adoption of Salman Rushdie's novel Midnight's Children. He played the title role for the movie. This actor is associated with television also.
