Shaad Randhawa Biography
Shaad Randhawa is a Bollywood actor who made his film debut with 2006 movie – Who lamhe directed by Mohit Suri. He regularly appears in Mohit Suri’s flicks. He appears in character roles in Bollywood and some of his noted appearances include Aawarapan, Ek tha villain, Rokk, Aashique 2 and Dhoom Dhadakka. Most recently he appeared in the role of CBI officer in the latest release – Ek tha villain (2014). He played the role of Aditya Roy Kapoor's best friend Vivek in 2013 musical blockbuster – Aashique 2. His role as a sincere and true friend was widely appreciated. Shaad Randhawa is the son of popular character artist of yesterdays, Randhava. Shaad is the nephew of both Dhara Singh (Randhava’s brother) and top heroine of early 1970s – Mumtaz. Shaad’s mother Mallika is Mumtaz’s sister.
Shaad was born in Mumbai in a filmy family. His father Randhava (who died most recently in 2013) has played character roles in Bollywood and Punjabi movies. Randhava is the younger brother of Dhara Singh. His uncle Dhara Singh, better known for playing Hanuman in Ramayan was a wrestler and film actor, who was frequently paired with Mumtaz for B-grade movies in 1960s. Mumtaz’s sister Mallika was married to Randhawa. Thus Shaad Randhawa is the cousin of Dhara Singh and Mumtaz.
In 2006 Shaad made his Bollywood debut through Woh Lamhe, a movie loosely based on the life of actress Parveen Babi. He portrayed the supporting role of Nikhil Rai in this movie. Aawarapan in 2007 was his second release. He portrayed the role of Kabir, Emraan Hashmi’s best friend in this movie. Dhoom Dadakka was his first movie where he played the main lead.
