Shahrukh Khan Biography
Shahrukh Khan is an Indian film actor, producer and television host. He has acted in more than 79 Hindi films and is called as The King Of Bollywood. He started his career by appearing in television serials in 1980s. His debut film was Deewana in the year 1992. He had won Filmfare Awards 14 times among which eight awards are for Best Actor category. He was honored with Padma Shri award by Indian Government in 2005.
He was born on 2nd November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. His parents are Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima. He has an elder sister Shehnaz. He grew up in Rajendra Nagar neighborhood. He studied at St. Columba’s School. He received award for his accomplishments in sports, drama and academics when he was at school. He attended Hansraj College and got his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Then he joined Jamia Millia Islamia and got his Masters Degree in Mass Communication.
He came to Mumbai in 1991 after the death of his parents. He married Gauri Chibber on 25th October 1991. They have one son Aryan born in 1997 and one daughter Suhana born in 2000. He is a Muslim whereas his wife is a Hindu. His children follow both religions. In 2005, Nasreen Munni Kabir produced a documentary film depicting his life, The Inner and Outer World of Shah Rukh Khan. The book Still Reading Khan was about his family life and was released in 2006, and Anupama Chopra wrote a book, King of Bollywood: Shahrukh Khan and the seductive world of Indian Cinema in 2007 about his life.
Some of his famous films are Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Yayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Chak De! India, Om Shanti Om, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gam, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer- Zaara, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, My Name Is Khan, etc. He founded two film production companies, Dreamz Unlimited and Red Chillies Entertainment. In April 2007, his life size wax statue was installed at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London.
