Shrivallabh Vyas Biography

Shrivallabh Vyas is a talented Bollywood actor known for portraying powerful supporting roles on big screen. Lagaan is his most memorable movie, where he played the role of Gauri’s (Gracy Singh) father who is a physician. He played the role of wicket keeper in the villagers’ cricket team. In most movies, he is seen playing roles older than his age. Shool and Sardar are other memorable roles of Vyas. He is a former student of National School of Drama, New Delhi. He is also known by the name - Palav Vyas.

 

After graduating from NSD Delhi, he started his career as a stage actor in theater. He also appeared in Marathi movies before entering Bollywood. Occasionally he acted in Bollywood as well. Vallabh also worked for Mumbai Municipality until 1998 to support his family. He has been active in cinema since late 1980’s. Dr. Paranjpe in Khel, family manager in Deewana, Major Baig in Sarfarosh and Ansar Kamran the Veterinary Doctor in Yaarana are his noted roles in the 1990’s. Father of samir dharmadhikari in Satta, Wicket keeper in Lagaan and Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Sardar are the memorable roles in the early 2000’s.

 

He has also appeared in many television serials in supporting roles. Mufti uncle in Ajab Si Hai Zindagi (1996–1998), Osama Bin Laden in the teleserial Timebomb 911 and as Mr. Chavan in Tara (1994–1996) are worth mentioning. He has also appeared in Sony Television’s popular detective series – CID. He was last seen in Dil Bole Hadippa and for a few years, he is undergoing treatment. He currently resides in Jaipur in poor economic conditions.
