Sihi Kahi Chandru Biography
Sihi Kahi Chandru is a noted character artist associated with Kannada films and television. He is also a producer and director and a noted theatre personality, known for his famous comedy play Neenaanaadre naaneenena?, an adaptation of Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors. The cookery show - Bombat Bhojana on Kannada TV channel Suvarna was also a hit. Apart from comic roles, he has also donned character and negative roles. 1990 film Ganeshana Maduve, in the role of a tax inspector is one of his noted roles on big screen. 'Gowri Ganesha', 'Putakkana Highway' and 'Tenali Rama' are other noted works. He has directed television serials - Silli Lalli and Paapa Pandu.
Sihi Kahi Chandru was born in the year 1961. He is married to television actress Geetha, with whom he has worked for the popular Doordarshan serial - Sihi Kahi. It was one of the top rated serials of 1980s where Chandru and his wife played the protagonists. The show was aired during the period 1986-87. Since then Sihi Kahi tag got added to his name which also attributes to the diversity of roles that he has portrayed on screen. Sihi Kahi – literally means ‘the collocation of bitter sweet’ in Kannada language. Soon after the end of the series Sihi Kahi, love blossomed between the two and they finally married in the year 1990.
He made his film debut in the year 1990, where he played a cameo role of a tax inspector in the movie - Ganeshana Maduve. Later he appeared in Golmal Radhakrishna and its sequel. As a comic actor, he shares amazing chemistry with actors Bank Janardhan and Umashree for many movies. Devara Nadalli is his latest Kannada film, where he worked with Prakash Raj and Achyuth Kumar.
