Sonal Sehgal Biography
Sonal Sehgal is an Indian model and actress who predominantly works in Bollywood. She made her Bollywood debut with `U Bomsi and Me. Her big break to Bollywood was "Aashayein" directed by Nagesh Kuknoor. Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, Radio, 'Future to bright hai ji' and Damadamm! are her other noted appearances. She played lead role in both Himesh Reshammiya movies - Radio and Damadamm! Before entering cinema, she has worked as a copywriter in a leading ad agency in Delhi and has also worked in a few television serials like Saara Aakash, Jassi jaisa koi nahi and Hotel Kingston. Most recently she has played a pivot role in Mahesh Dattani's play 'Mad about Money'. She has written a few jingles and has also penned lyrics for a movie. Writing is her second passion after movies and she writes poems and short stories during her leisure time.
Sonal belongs to Chandigarh. Sehgal was born on born July 13, 1981. She worked as a copywriter before joining television industry. Saara Aakash, aired on Star Plus made her popular. She played the role of a terrorist in this television series. It was followed by another noted appearance in `Hotel Kingston’, where she played the role of a rich spoilt brat. Then she assisted the ad filmmaker and director Pradeep Sarkar, of Parineeta fame. Then she performed in a few ad campaigns and also appeared in a few music videos. Her music videos - ‘Maayiri’ of Euphobia and `Ghunghat` by Pankaj Udhas were popular.
She also appeared in a few episodes of Jassi jaisa koi nahin and Kasauti Zindagi ki. She also anchored a television show - `Aaj Ki Filmy Khabar`. She married Naresh Kamath on 7th December, 2011 at Delhi. He is a guitarist in the popular band called `Kailasa’. 'Future to bright hai ji', was her last screen appearance where she penned lyrics for a song sequence rendered by Neeraj Sridhar.
