Sudhish Kamath Biography

Sudhish Kamath is an Indian film director, Chennai-based journalist and film critic. He is a producer and screenwriter too. In 2006, he made his first independent film, That Four-Letter Word, which was premiered at the Chennai International Film Festival in 2006. It was the first independent digital film to be shot and released digitally in India. R. Madhavan made a special appearance in the film. Good Night Good Morning was his second independent romance film, released in 2012. He was also one among the 11 directors, who directed the collaborative feature film, X: Past Is Present (2015) which had one whole story with the eleven directors making sections of it.

 

Sudhish Kamath hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His education was completed from his hometown. He did Masters in Communication in Manipal Institute of Communication, before he pursued his career as a journalist. He started as a Chief reporter with a tabloid called Metro Ads in 1995. After wo years he moved to A.M.Plus, the Saturday supplement to Udayavani's Morning News. He joined ‘The Hindu’ in 1999 and had a long association with this daily. He also learnt the name of a successful journalist during his association with this daily. He worked as film critic working with the daily newspaper The Hindu, and also made a few independent films.

 

As of now, he has been a part of three independent Indian films as a producer, screenwriter and director - That Four-Letter Word (2006), Good Night Good Morning (2010) and X – Past is Present (2014). X – Past is Present is the collaboration of 11 directors, who worked on each segment. Each director dealt with the memory of a girlfriend, and each woman represents a different genre, and all the subplots are interlinked.
