Surendra Pal Biography
Surendra Pal is a noted television actor known for portraying powerful character roles on mini screen. He is also a film producer and director of Bhojpuri films. He played antagonist’s role in numerous television series, mostly in Doordarshan in the 1990s. He is best known for his television role of Dronacharya in Mahabharat on Doordarshan in the early 1990s. He played the male antagonist in India’s first super hero series Shaktimaan in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Daksha in Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev and Vikranta Jabbar of Saaya (horror series) are other memorable roles of his career. Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Saya, Left Right Left and Vishnu Puran are some other roles on Indian television. He has also acted in a few movies like Khuda Gawah, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, Sehar, Indian, Jo bole so nihaar and Jodhaa Akbar. He played a negative cameo in Diya Aur Baati Hum.
He belongs to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He started his film career in 1984 with the Bhojpuri movie, Ganga ki beti. He played lead hero in this movie. The movie was a commercial hit and he began his successful journey in film industry. Since then he is associated with Bhojpuri cinema. In 2007, he wore the cap of a film producer and director of Bhojpuri films for the first time. His latest film as an actor was Dushmani which was a huge hit. He has appeared in more than 16 Bhojpuri movies.
Though he was associated with film industry in the 1980s, it was the epic Mahabharat, which shot him to instant success and fame. Till now, he is remembered for the role of Dhronacharya he played on mini screen. CID, Amanat, Neeli Aankhen, Kumkum and Maharana Pratap are a few more noted appearances.
