Tania (punjabi Actress) Biography
Tania is a well-known and new comer Punjabi actress associated with Punjabi cinema. She mostly plays supporting roles on Punjabi screen. She won Brit Asia TV Awards for "Best Supporting Actress" for her performance in Qismat (2018). It was her second nomination for the same award functions. She was also nominated for Best debut performance, though she didn’t win the same. Son of Manjeet Singh, Guddiyan Patole and Rabb Da Radio 2 are her other Punjabi releases, while Sufna is her upcoming release. The movie marks her debut in a lead role, after playing 4 character roles within a span of 2 years.
Tania was born on 6 May 1993 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. She grew up in Amritsar and Canada. She is a trained classical dancer who has participated in national level dancing competitions. She had passion towards acting since her childhood. During her college days at BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar she won the "Best Actor of the Year" award from 2012 to 2016 consecutively, thus making it a unique achievement. In 2016 she was offered the supporting role of Sarabjit’s daughter in the movie Sarabjit starring Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda. But she couldn’t accept the role as film shooting days conflicted with her school exam days.
In 2018 she signed a supporting role of Son of Manjeet Singh. But the movie Qismat got released the same year earlier. The movie gave her major break and a couple of nominations at Brit Asia TV Awards, eventually winning in best supporting actress category. Her role as Raaji in her most recent release Rabb Da Radio 2 also got noticed.
