Upen Patel Biography

Upen Patel is an Indian film actor and model. He was born on 16^th August 1981 in London in United Kingdom. He is living in Mumbai at present. He started acting in films in 2006. He has won the super model hunt 2002 of Zee TV.

He joined NIFT in UK and completed his diploma in film production in 2010. He joined Raindance in UK and also got a diploma in scriptwriting. He wanted to undertake lessons in acting and so he took part in the Summer camp that was organized at Los Angeles at the Lee Strasberg Actors Studio.

He did the commercial of Hugo Boss. He got the MTV India Most Stylish Male Award for two years consecutively. He also won the F awards for India’s number one supermodel. This gave him many modeling assignments and he participated in the campaigns for many popular brands such as Tuscan Verve, Vikram Phadnis, Westside, D’damas Desire, Provogue, etc.

He has shown his face in a number of music videos. He had participated in the music video that contained the song Kya Khoob Lagti Ho. His film debut was through the film 36 China Town in 2006 and this was a commercial success.

He is interested in dancing in his films. He acted in the film Namastey London in 2007 and this was gave him name and fame. Though his third film Shakalaka Boom Boom did not fare well he was praised for his skills in acting.

Some of the films that he has acted include 36 China Town, Namastey London, Shakalaka Boom Boom, One Two Three, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, etc.

He won Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut for the film 36 China Town, IIFA Awards for Best Debutant Male in 2007, Global Indian Films Best Debut Actor Award. He was nominated for Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Male.

In the poll conducted by the magazine Eastern Eye he was ranked among the top ten sexiest Asians in the world for three consecutive years 2008, 2009 and 2010. He took part in the Independence Day Parade in Los Angeles on 10^th August 2008.
