Vijayan Peringode Biography
Vijayan Peringode was a noted actor and character artist associated with Malayalam cinema. He started his career in the film industry as a production executive before he made an entry to acting. However he gained recognition as an actor in the recent times only. After that he received many noted supporting roles, and within a short span he appeared in over 40 films, before he died on May 22, 2018. The 66-year old actor suffered a major heart attack in the early morning. He regularly appeared in movies directed by Lal Jose and Sathyan Anthikad, the directors known for family dramas. He has also worked with Priyadarshan in the recent times.
Vijayan marked his acting debut in the year 1983 with the film, Ashthram, directed by P. N. Menon. The role went unnoticed. Before that he worked as a production executive in the industry. He played a few bit but memorable roles in the 1990s and later, and has appeared in over 40 films. He is a familiar face to Malayali audience, though he has done only very small roles on screen. He has also donned the role of supporting actor in many movies.
As a film actor, some of his noted roles include – Meesa madhavan, Devasaram, Pattalam, Orkkaappurath, Sreedharante Onnaam Thirumuriv, Adayalam, Oppam, Vadakkumnathan, Celluloid, Achuvinte Amma etc. Most recently he was seen in Oppam and Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu. He has shared screen space with some of the big stars of the industry like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep etc in many of their hit movies. He has played the role of a senior uncle, father, Karanavar etc in films.
