Yousuf Ali Biography 
M A Yousuf Ali also known as Yusuffali M.A is an Indian business man who hails from Kerala. He belongs to Nattika of Thrissur district and he is the Managing Director of Abu Dhabi-headquartered EMKE LuLu Group of companies. LuLu group owns the Lulu Hypermarket chain in Middle East as well as the recently opened LULU Showroom at Kochi. According to the present statistics, he is ranked at 34th position among rich people in India. His EMKE group outside India has an annual turnover of US$ 4.5 billion globally. Not only that, EMKE Group employs the largest number of Indians outside India. Another significant fact is that according to the recent listing of Forbes, he is at 974th position among global billionaires. His assets are calculated worth 1.5 billion dollar. Indeed a great achievement to attain one among the top 1000 richest persons of the world. He also owns 4.99 percent shares of Catholic Syrian Bank.
Yusuffali was born Nattika of Thrissur on November 15, 1955. He completed his schooling at Nattika itself. He did his diploma in Business Management and Administration in Gujarat. He left India to Abu Dhabi in the year 1973. At that time, his paternal uncle, MK Abdullah was doing business. Mr.Abdullah was the founder of EMKE Group. It was through his talent and brilliance that Yousuf Ali was able to start the first Hyper Market of LULU in Abu Dhabi. His thinking to jump into the import and wholesale distribution of products proved successful and it happened at exactly the same time, when Gulf countries witnessed major changes in this sector. Very soon, he started similar projects and expanded his empire. With the traditional groceries and supermarkets LULU is still creating great changes. Most recent is the one opened at his own native place, Kerala. LULU Hypermarket, opened at Kochi is the biggest of all shopping malls in India thus inputting a lot to the commercialization of this green city.
Not only in business, he works for many institutions as well. He is involved in many charity organizations as well as many private and public sectors too. He holds many high positions in government bodies and agencies, social and educational sectors as well.
