Zeishan Quadri Biography
Zeishan Quadri is a Bollywood film actor and screenwriter, better known as the co-scriptwriter of Gangs
of Wasseypur – Part 1 and 2, both directed and produced by Anurag Kashyap. Both the parts were
released in 2012, which summarized the story of three generations. Quadri portrayed the character
role of Definite Khan, Sardar Khan's son, which helped him to bag Best Supporting Actor award at SAIFF
awards. His role as a wily and street smart goon who imitates Salman Khan was an instant hit. He also
won Filmfare award for best dialogue writer for the movie, apart from nominations at Star Screen
Awards and TOIFA.
Most recently he acted in comedy - Revolver Rani portraying the role of Pilot. Zeishan Quadri was born
in Wasseypur, and the movie was based on the coal mafia of Dhanbad, Jharkhand and politics. He also
received death threats for scripting 'Gangs of Wasseypur', based on real life people. Quadri is ready with
three more scripts, two inspired from real life incidents.
Zeishan Quadri, a resident of Wasseypur, Bihar (now Jharkhand) was born in the year 1983. His father
Syed Imran Quadri is a civil engineer. Zeishan completed his education from Dhanbad, Meerut and
Delhi. Quadri worked in a call center in Delhi for 18 months before reaching Bollywood. In 2009
he reached Mumbai with ambitions to become an actor. Writing is only his hobby and acting is his
passion. He watched cinema and identified his hidden potential to write scripts as well. He approached
Anurag Kashyap with his story based on gang wars of Wasseypur and he liked the film script. "Gangs of
Wasseypur" in 2012 marked Quadri's debut as a writer and as an actor. His role as an ardent Salman
Khan fan in part 2 was well received as well.
