Sagarika Ghatge Biography

Sagarika Ghatge is an Indian actress, better known for her debut movie, Chak de India where she played one of the hockey players of the team. She portrayed Preeti Sabarwal, a fictional member of the Indian women's national hockey team. She was one of the leading ladies of the team. Shah Rukh Khan was the lead actor of the movie. Then she played the supporting role of Kamiah in Miley Naa Miley Hum (2011) and lead role opposite Emraan Hashmi in 2012 movie Rush. Ghatge received the Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress alongside all the ‘Chak De’ Girls, for the year 2007. In 2013, she debut Marathi film world, through Premachi Goshta, where she played lead role.

She was born in 1986 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Though she made a magic debut in Chak de India aside Shah Rukh Khan, as bubbly Punjabi girl Preeti Sabarwal she didn’t have many roles to boast off post this film. Yet she was offered the brand ambassador post of Reebok India soon after the success of this film. Then she got supporting role in Miley Na Miley Hum, where lead roles were played by Chirag Paswan and Kangana Ranaut, followed by Raftaar 24X7.

In 2013, she made her Marathi debut with Premachi Goshta aside National award winning actor, Atul Kulkarni which was released in February 2013. The movie was directed by Satish Rajwade. It tells the story about two strangers who meets at the marriage counselor's office and gradually becomes close. The film was appreciated for putting forth "love beyond relationship". Now Sagarika Ghatge is waiting for more roles from Bollywood, irrespective of lead or supporting. She just wants to prove herself in challenging roles here forth.
