T. V. Mohandas Pai Biography
T. V. Mohandas Pai is an administrator who currently serves as the Chairman of Aarin Capital and Manipal Global Education. He is a business executive and venture capitalist. He studied at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and is also a CA by profession. He is a former director and CFO of Infosys, India’s leading IT company. His career began with Infosys in 1994 and he was a Member of the Board from May 2000– July 2011. He was an integral part of the Infosys team that enabled the first listing of an India-registered company on NASDAQ in American stock exchange. He is a recipient of several honours including Padma Shri Award, the fourth highest civilian award in India by the President of India (2015) Padma Shri Award in 2015 and 'Best CFO in India' award from Finance Asia.
T. V. Mohandas Pai hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. He belonged to a middle class family. He completed his law studies from Bangalore University and CA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He joined Infosys in 1994 and was associated with the organization for many years, serving as an administrator at several elite posts. He was a board member of Infosys and also served as its CFO. While he was serving as CFO of the organization, he played a magnificent role in transforming Infosys into one of the world's most respected and widely known software services companies. He also formulated India’s first publicly articulated financial policy for the company.
He has served as a Member of the Kelkar Committee, constituted by the Ministry of Finance for reforming direct taxes, the Non-Resident Taxation Committee etc. He co-founded Akshaya Patra Foundation, Bangalore to start a midday meal program for school children, which now feeds over 1,200,000 children in 7,669 government schools across the country. But it primarily works in the rural areas of Bangalore and neighbouring districts.
